TimeWise Cleansers - I want to pass along some product knowledge I came by today! I just had the pleasure of talking to Debbie at Medical Relations. A customer of mine asked whether any of the TimeWise products she's using contains mineral oil. Her dermatologist recommended she NOT use any skincare products with mineral oil. The 3-in-1 Cleanser contains mineral oil. The 3-in-1 BAR does NOT contain mineral oil. Per Debbie at Medical Relations, mineral oil is a great solvent, hence its inclusion in the cleanser in a tube. Mineral oil, however doesn't function well as a solvent in the bar. The first two ingredients in the bar - sodium palmitate and sodium palm kernelate - are solvents and they cause the foaming in the bar. I was glad to learn that there is a TimeWise option for my customer. I also was happy to learn the the 3-in-1 Bar is considered 'oil free.' The box states so also! Perhaps you know this already, I didn't want to keep this 'find' to myself! Carolyn Dayton

Classic Basic - Mary Kay has no plans to discontinue the classic skin care, especially the Oil Control Lotion , which is still a very big seller. Someone with oily skin really has no business using Timewise Cleanser or Moisturizer! Velocity or Classic Basic 3 (or some combination thereof) is going to be a much more approprite option. Keep in mind that ALL of our skin care products are interchangeable with one another. To keep it simple, once you have studied a woman's profile card, have her sample TimeWise unless she is Oily or blemish prone, and in that case have her sample Velocity. Make adjustments or add supplements based upon what she tells you about how the product feels as you go along & at the private consultation. MAKE SURE you schedule a second appointment in about 10 days, especially with "problem" skin types! EESD Dorothy Boyd

For oily skin, try this regimen:

Velocity Cleanser

Blemish Control Toner (optional, only if blemish prone)

Acne Treatment Gel ( optional on blemish prone areas or spots already broken out)

Day or Night Solution

Oil Control Lotion, applied with light, feathery strokes

Oil Mattifier (optional in areas) or second coat of OCL patted on

Medium Coverage foundation or creme-to-powder

Loose powder, applied with a sponge, using a pat & roll motion

Keep Beauty Blotters & pressed powder in purse for touch-ups

MK Intense Moisturizing Cream/Oil-Free Hydrating Gel

Oil-Free Hydrating Gel and Intense Moisturizing Cream are not moisturizers. They are supplements with the purpose of hydrating and not moisturizing! There is a difference. They are designed to help our skin look more youthful and not dull! They hydrate with water from the environment instead of moisturizing. They do not contain any anti-aging properties.

Oil-Free Hydrating Gel - even though the instructions say to use the product after the moisturizer if you are using Oil Control Lotion (Formula #3), Velocity or Oil Mattifier the new Hydrating Gel works better when used under (or before) these products. Velocity and Oil Control Lotion (Formula #3) do not moisturize, they only absorb the oil! Day and Night Solutions are the only supplements that have anti-aging properties and actually help with wrinkling!

For Dry Skin: New Intense Moisturizing Cream can be used with TimeWise Moisturizer to help with a more youthful appearance. The new Intense Moisturizing Cream is to be used after (over) your TimeWise Moisturizer product or with Advance Moisture Renewal Cream as a similar function as the Extra Emollient Moisturizer (which has been discontinued) for extremely dry skin! If the customer can only afford one the these products they should use the Advanced Moisture Renewal Cream!

For Oily Skin: I have experienced a wonderful new look and love the Oil-Free Hydration Gel. My skin cells really look different now - I know they are looking more youthful and not dull! So there is a purpose for all the products. You will still want to use the Day/Night Solution, then use the new hydration product that fits your skin needs. I really do love the Oil-Free Hydration Gel! Try all these ideas so YOUR skin looks and feel it's best and THEN you can explain/help your customers.
