WOW!!!! Am I impressed...a young law school student right here in Lubbock Texas. You may be asking yourself....what does she have that I don't? The answer?....nothing What did she do..maybe different than you? She made a decision to make it happen and she was willing to do the work. She shared her big huge goal with everyone. I AM IMPRESSED!!!! What big huge goal do you need to set for yourself today? What decision do you need to make to move forward today? Congratulations Laura Beth.....you have my utmost respect. Jan Thetford NSD Hey! My name is Laura Beth Robertson. I am from Willis, Texas (45 miles north of Houston); however, I currently live in Lubbock. I am currently in my third year at Texas Tech School of Law, and will be graduating May 13th. My Mary Kay career began last August when I joined with only personal use and a few sales on my agenda. In September I had 3 skin care classes and wonderful sales, but law school became too overwhelming as finals approached. I didn't do anything with my business from October to February.
It wasn't until February 2006 that I found myself needing another part-time job, so I turned back to Mary Kay. I had been mentoring Texas Tech athletes, but Tech cut their budget over Christmas break. So, when I returned to school in January, I began looking for a job waiting tables. My director, Katherine Ward, called the second week in February to tell me that I was inactive and to ask if I would be getting active anytime soon. I informed her that I was probably going to sell my product back to Mary Kay and just find a job waiting tables until I graduated in May. She said, "Laura Beth, just give me three weeks. You can make so much more money in Mary Kay working a lot less hours." I reluctantly agreed.
My "three week trial period" began February 16th. By the end of my three weeks I had 5 team members! The next week was spring break. Over the break my grandfather passed away and my dad had emergency heart surgery, but even during a very difficult time the Lord was blessing me through Mary Kay. During that one week, I signed three new team members! I submitted DIQ on April 1st with the goal of finishing in one month. I knew that Mary Kay gives us four months, but with finals, graduation and the bar exam in May, June and July I knew that I needed to be a ONE MONTH WONDER!! We finished up DIQ on April 30th at 9 pm with 31 active team members and $34,515.75 in production!!! I am so proud of my team, so thankful for my senior director, and so blessed to be a child of God! Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work and prayers.
I LOVE Y'ALL, Laura Beth Back to Top |
